Subjects examined by the Board are:

| 4. Carnatic Flute | 8. Tabla |

There are 9 Grades for each subject. Candidates will have to do Practical and Theory Exams for all subjects |

Grade 1 and 2 will have Theory orally along with their Practical test |

Grade 3 and above will have to sit for a written Theory paper. Candidates can choose to answer in English or Tamil |

Candidates completing the 8th Grade will be awarded a Diploma with the title 'Kalajothy' |

Candidates who complete the 9th Grade or Post Diploma will be awarded the tiitle 'Vidya Bushan' |
